What an eventful day we had today out at Four Winds Faire!!!
The day started out with a ninja invasion of the last day of Pirate and Buccaneer weekend brought to you courtesy of Willy's Wily Wenches! Done as a way to bring fairness to ninja lovers everywhere (and we are all about fairness since we are getting revenge on history!), an homage to Full-Time Ninjas (gotta love the indie filmmakers!), and as a way to tease our beloved friend Capt. Thom Bedlam (a truly awesome performer that we feel privelaged to call our friend) who managed to unwittingly get caught up in the promo video for Full-Time Ninjas, we donned our ninja gear instead of our usual wench attire for opening gate. Many laughs were had by those in attendance and pictures were taken. As soon as the pics get uploaded, we will definitely link to them here so keep your eye out for them!
Today was made even better by our reconnecting with our friend, Paul Bibeau. Paul is the organizer behind Troup CareFest which we performed at last year. His efforts helped raise food, clothes, and funds for many local charities in September of 2009. Paul is truly a wonderful man and we had such fun performing at Troup CareFest. We look forward to working with him again while helping our community in the near future!
During our second show of the day, we had a celebrity show up in the audience... well, not so much a real celebrity as a dead ringer for one! Michael, a young man who could seriously be a stand-in for Edward Cullen, was dragged up on stage and given the illustrious opportunity of taking our 'How to be a Wench' class brought to the world courtesty of the University of Wenching at Stratford-Upon-Avon! Pics of what was called a Twilight fanfic gone horribly awry will be posted as soon as they are uploaded, we promise!
As if today wasn't already awesome enough, CBS 19, Tyler's local CBS affiliate, came out to do some filming at faire. While there, Anita was interviewed and parts of our show were filmed. Tune in to the news tonight at 10 to catch the footage!
Next weekend is St. Patrick's Day weekend at Four Winds! What fun debauchery will take place? Come out in person and find out for yourself ;-)

I will never understand people who post comment spam. Several of these wonderful 'people' (and it's 'people' because I'm sure they're either bots or some other form of creatin spawned from the wonders of the interwebs) have posted their meaningless drivel on our blog lately; all of the comments centering around the same post. For now, it's mostly amusing. Still, comments might be going to moderated only if it keeps up.

Congradulations are in order!
Jenny (Anita Mann as she is known on stage) graduated with a Bachelors degree from University of Texas at Tyler today! Her journey towards graduation was filled with many highs, lows, and even more self-discovery, which is what makes this day especially sweet. All of us at Willy's Wily Wenches couldn't be prouder of her!

I have learned two things today:
1. 10 week old puppies have sharp teeth.
2. 10 week old puppies that were rescued off the street, starving and abused, like treats so much that they will accidentally bite you if you don't get your fingers out of the way quick enough.
Two little puncture wounds, one for each painful lesson, now grace one of my fingers. It aches when I type so I might not be around online as much as I would like today. Hopefully I won't need to make a trip to the doctor...

It has certainly been an eventful week for us wenches but oh, what a wonderful week it's been! Thanks to our new twitter account, we have a couple of awesome new friends and online mentions.
The first is from the Reduced Shakespeare Company (yes that Reduced Shakespeare Company! *insert fangirl squeals here*) They were kind enough to give us a shout out in their podcast for this week. It's Episode 145: Pasty White Giants. It looks like new episodes to their podcast are released every Monday. Their podcast is FREE so you should definitely subscribe today!
The second is from the Shakespeare Geek Blog. The Shakespeare Geek Blog boasts being the oldest Shakespeare blog on the net, which is really quite impressive, if you ask us! The blog covers all things Shakespeare and is chalk full of fun and interesting posts to read. We highly recommend subscribing to its RSS feed today!
We simply cannot thank the Reduced Shakespeare Company and the Shakespeare Geek Blog enough for taking the time to mention us. It really does mean the world to our humble little group of wenches!
